Lateral Thigh Trainer - Not Exactly As Advertised

If you're interested in purchasing a Lateral Thigh Trainer to help you sculpt your thighs and butt, keep reading this article.  I'll explain to you why you may not actually get the results you're looking for with a Lateral Thigh Trainer, and get you started in the right direction.

Treadmills

The Lateral Thigh Trainer is a simple little device that focuses on a side-to-side, up-and-down movement, aiming to tone and reduce your problem areas on your lower body.  There is little variation in the movement of the machine -- it moves in one continuous motion, never varying, keeping you locked into a fixed path.

Treadmills

Unfortunately, this machine advertises itself a bit deceptively.  The advertisements are geared around the idea that this machine will target specifically your lower body's trouble spots and reduce their size.  This is called "spot reduction" and is simply not possible, as much as advertisers like to claim it is.

Also, although the intention behind the machine is great, its movements are simply unnatural on the human body, and ignore the thousands of the lower body's stabilizer muscles, especially around the knees, forcing you into specific fixed motions and only working major muscle groups.  This can lead to serious injury and incomplete body development.

Again, although the intention behind the Lateral Thigh Trainer is good, the machine's claims and advertisements are a bit deceptive.  You don't need a special machine to lose your body fat and work your lower body.  In fact, through my own personal experience and that of my dozens of private clients, I've found that the solution is much easier (and cheaper!) than you think -- heavy walking and the right diet.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

Payment Plan Options for Home Treadmills

If you are looking for a treadmill but you think you can't afford it, consider the many payment plan options that are available to you. Treadmills are available to suit every price range these days, with some models selling for between 0 and 00. But if you are looking for a top of the line treadmill, you shouldn't have to look far to find a payment plan to suit your needs.

Treadmills

Bad credit? That probably won't be a problem, because some retailers will charge your credit card instead of running a check on your credit. You can set up a handful of equal payments, charged automatically to your card each month, and you don't have to worry about sending in a check or making sure you make the payment on time. It is all automatic, and you can spend less time worrying about paying bills and more time enjoying your new treadmill.

Treadmills

Do you have your heart set on a more expensive model? It should not be difficult for you to find financing on any model you may choose, and the monthly payments on your own treadmill are likely to be lower than the fees you currently pay to join and use your gym.

Once you factor in the gas you spend driving to the gym and the time it takes out of your day, buying a treadmill of your own on a payment plan option will probably wind up SAVING you money. And, so long as you are going to the gym, you are not investing in anything. A treadmill is an investment because the equipment eventually pays for itself. Research will guide you to the best payment plan option for the treadmill that you want.

Training For A Marathon On A Treadmill

I have run a half marathon, two full marathons, and even an extreme trail ultramarathon. But what separates me from most other marathon runners, is that except for a rare run outside, all my training has been on a treadmill. Most other runners I know hate the treadmill, and sometimes refer to it as the dreadmill. But the treadmill has some advantages over running outside. Of course, there are also some disadvantages as well.

Treadmills

One of the biggest advantages of a treadmill is the ability to run day or night regardless of the weather. Where I live, it gets brutally cold in the winter, and uncomfortably hot and humid in the summer. But with a treadmill, I am able to train year round.

Treadmills

Another advantage with a treadmill is the ability to run at a specific pace. Most marathon schedules call for running at various paces on various days. Outside it is near impossible to know what pace you are running while you are running. You can run on a track, and look at your watch as you pass certain markings to learn what pace you have already run. And depending on the terrain, it may difficult, if not impossible to maintain a consistant pace. But if my running schedule says run 10 miles at a 10:00 pace, I can just set the treadmill to 6mph, and run 10 miles at exactly a 10:00 minute per mile pace.

The biggest disadvantage of running on a treadmill is the monotony. Most people get bored running on a treadmill for hours. I have a TV set up in front of mine, and will watch movies, or whatever is on TV.
Another disadvantage of long distance running on a treadmill is the potential for distractions. It is too easy to go take a bathroom break, get lunch, or check email. This is one of my biggest problems. I will take breaks during long runs to take care of the distractions. As long as I run all the miles, I have generally been okay in the end. But with willpower, this problem can be overcome.

Another minor inconvenience of training on a treadmill is that you are not cooled by the passing air as your run. I solved this by placing a small fan on the floor in front of the treadmill that blows air onto me to help keep me cool.

While training on the treadmill for my first road race, a half marathon, I was nervous about whether the road would be significantly harder than running on the treadmill. I did a couple training runs out on the road to see how it would feel. I was surprised to notice little difference in the impact, and found that I actually ran faster on the road than I was expecting to.

I was also concerned about the lack of hills on a treadmill. In my earlier treadmill training, I would set the incline to 3 or 4. I had read somewhere that this would simulate the road better. But I was also not able to run as fast. So at times I would set the incline to the lowest setting, and would do faster runs. As time went on, I just left the incline on the lowest setting, and run faster. I have not found this to limit my running. Most marathons are relatively flat anyway, with only a few small hills.

I was also worried that since I was not actually propelling my body forward like I would be when actually running on the road, that running on a treadmill was actually easier than running outside. This has turned out not to be an issue. When I have run outside in races, I have actually tended to run faster and easier than I have on the treadmill.

Treadmills vs Elliptical Trainers - Which Gives a Better Workout

In today's world of fitness crazes and new-fangled exercise tools, many fads come and go. For example, how many people are working out daily with a Thigh Master. But, occasionally, an idea is hit upon that really works! An exercise machine is created that actually does what it says it will do. It promotes fitness and wellness. It helps both novice and fitness enthusiasts reach their exercise goals. It has 'staying' power!

Treadmills

Two of the most popular fitness machines used today are the treadmill and the elliptical trainer. What makes these machines so popular? Why are they favored over other exercise devices?

Treadmills

The treadmill has been around for over a decade and remains popular among novice and seasoned athletes. The reason for its popularity is it is appealing to walkers and runners and it is a relatively simple machine. Anyone can walk, there are no special skills involved.

A newer exercise machine, the elliptical, is gaining on the treadmill in its popularity ranking. It offers the benefit of a total body workout without the impact.

How do treadmills compare with elliptical training equipment? What benefits do each machine offer? Could one of these be right for you?

Elliptical Trainers

Elliptical trainers are relatively new to the fitness equipment industry. They have increased in popularity during the last few years. And rate of growth is surpassing that of treadmills. But, do they deliver what they promise?

Elliptical trainers allow the athlete to burn a similar number of calories as jogging...but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Your feet never leave the pedals. As a result, this type of machine is quite low-impact and goes easy on the joints. In fact, whereas exercising on a treadmill requires your body to absorb the impact force of walking or running, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Running can result in 2.5x your body weight impacting a treadmill.

Because ellipticals are so low-impact and easy on the joints, this type of exercise equipment may very well be one of the best choices for older people or for individuals who are recovering from a joint injury. That may be why it is so popular with us baby boomers, whose joints have taken such a beating over the years.

Elliptical machines mimic the normal elliptical motion of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower-body workout.

But, WAIT! There's more! Elliptical motion machines ALSO simultaneously work the upper body (unlike the treadmill, which works only the lower body)! As the feet go through their elliptical motion, the hands grip the moving handlebars, exercising the arms. The movement of the dual handlebars mimics cross-country skiing. Now, this particular type of workout may not necessarily pump you up to look like a bodybuilder. However, because you are including the upper 30% of your body in your workouts, the results will be more efficient. (And, those arms will be toned in no time!)

Because elliptical trainers DO work the upper and lower body simultaneously, the heart rate climbs more quickly. Thus, less time is required to achieve more results. The amount of energy expended is optimized. As the legs are being worked, the back, shoulders, chest, biceps, and triceps are also working...making it possible to burn more calories in less time. (An optimal workout need only be about 20-30 minutes long.)

The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. When you change the direction of the pedals, you'll target your lower body in different ways. It is nice to be able to add versatility to your elliptical workouts, and such a change works to ensure optimal training of the leg muscles.

The intensity level can be adjusted on elliptical equipment to fit your personal level of fitness. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride. With such an efficient workout, you can say 'goodbye' to flabby thighs and derrieres!

Previous studies have shown that working out on an elliptical unit can trick the body into believing it is working easier than it actually is. Therefore, as you're burning more calories in less time on an elliptical trainer, your body feels as though it doesn't have to work as hard to achieve its goals. This phenomenon is known as the "Rate of Perceived Exertion."
Additional benefits of elliptical training include its ability to build bone density and to inhibit the onset of osteoporosis.

Everyone needs strong, healthy bones. This is especially a concern as we grow older, and our body's bone mass begins to deteriorate. Elliptical exercise can inhibit bone deterioration and actually improve bone thickness.

An elliptical device is safe to use (i.e. it stops when you stop). It uses very little electricity and is economical to operate. Because of its lesser impact, there is less wear and tear of the machine, making maintenance quite low. It has a small footprint, so it takes up less floor space than other fitness equipment. And, as with the treadmill, it allows you to exercise in a controlled environment for more comfort and convenience.

With all the benefits and the practicality of elliptical training machines, they just might end up exceeding the treadmill in popularity! For more information on elliptical trainers go to Elliptical Trainers Ratings and Reviews.

Treadmills

Treadmills are the most popular fitness equipment. They are simple to use and provide an excellent cardiovascular workout. Treadmills allow you to walk, jog or run, they also can simulate hill climbing.

The two most popular forms of exercising are running and walking. Whether you are a casual walker or a serious runner, a treadmill can accommodate your exercise needs. Set the speed and incline to suite your desired cardiovascular goals. You can do a power walk up an incline or a heart pumping run at high speed.

Most power treadmills offer a number of pre-set programs and intensity levels from which to choose. On these particular machines, you may program in your personal information (i.e. age, weight, height, fitness level, etc.). Then, you may choose a pre-set program (such as 'killer hill' or 'weight-loss'), and the unit will automatically adjust the workout to fit your specifications.

If you'd rather manually begin treadmilling, you can bypass the pre-set programs and adjust the incline, speed, and the time yourself. And, even if you've chosen a pre-set program, you have the option of changing the incline level or speed level at any time.

Running on a treadmill with a nicely cushioned running surface provides less impact on the knees, shins, ankles, back, and joints than does running on pavement or on a track or trail. As a result, the runner who uses a treadmill is less likely to sustain a running injury than a runner who runs upon a harder surface. (Nonetheless, a runner's body will still experience impact when the foot lands on the belt.)

Outdoors, you could possibly trip over a rock or twist your ankle in an unseen hole in the ground. You don't have to worry about unseen road or trail hazards when exercising on a treadmill. You need only maintain your rhythm on the moving belt.

And the Winner Is!

So which is better, a treadmill or elliptical trainer. Both give an excellent cardio workout and when used regularly will burn unwanted calories.

For a walking or running devotee, the treadmill is the machine of choice. Even if you prefer the great outdoors, the treadmill allows you to continue your favorite sport all year long and in the most inclement weather. A treadmill will reduce injuries since you workout on a flat surface that is cushioned. It can add variety to your workout through various challenging programs. And with heart rate control you can optimize your exercising by allowing your heart rate to control the level of exertion.

The appeal of an elliptical is the combined upper and lower body workout, and the low-impact. You exercise more muscle groups, while avoiding the kind of impact that can result in injuries. For those of us whose knees or ankles just can't take it any longer, the elliptical trainer is the obvious choice.

So which one do you choose? Depending upon your preference and needs either can be an excellent choice.

Treadmill Troubleshooting

The treadmill is a wonderful invention that is built specifically for keeping us in shape and healthy by increasing our metabolism and to burn calories. It assists stroke victims that have been unable to walk and helps with cardiovascular monitoring. What more can we ask for from a machine. However, because it is a machine it has the entire break-down abilities of any machine. Yes, our friend the treadmill, can breakdown. When the treadmill does break down then there are a few things we must do. First, find your papers from the treadmill and check out the warranty period and what parts are on warranty. Then carefully determine what is wrong with the treadmill. Is it making strange sounds or did it just stop working?

Treadmills

You may want to talk to the dealer from whom you bought the treadmill as many of the manufacturers authorize the dealers to make repairs. Such dealers will have parts available to make the necessary repairs. If the dealer does not make repairs, than you will have to look for an independent repair person that makes repairs to your type of treadmill. Again, you may check with the manufacturers as they may have a list of repair people that are responsible and trustworthy to do the job.

Treadmills

It is always the best idea to follow the instructions for proper use of your treadmill that is found in the manual that came with your treadmill, assuming you bought it new. If you bought it used, get in touch with the manufacturer to get a replacement manual. To get a replacement manual have the serial number and style number handy, as the customer service person will need this to send you the manual. Most trouble with the treadmill will occur with the motor, the control panel, or the deck and belt area. When you have consulted the manual and did everything it told you to do when troubleshooting and still no response, your treadmill will require expert troubleshooting care. If you are not technologically or electrically savvy do not attempt fixing the treadmill yourself as you may injure yourself or do more damage to the treadmill or both.

What Does Refurbished, Remanufactured, Or Reconditioned Mean?

When you are shopping for consumer electronics or computer related products, chances are you've seen products labeled as refurbished, remanufactured or reconditioned.

Treadmills

All three terms mean the same thing, and they refer to the product being returned in less than 30 days, sent back to the manufacturer to be inspected, tested, repackaged, and then resold.
Most refurbished products have been sold, lightly used or not even used at all, and then returned. "Once an item is opened, it can't legally be sold as a new product. Often returns are sent back to the manufacturer to be refurbished. But sometimes a merchant's contract with the manufacturer doesn't allow returns or only allow so many. In that case the merchandise may go to a company known as a refurb house which cleans the items, checks them out and packs them in new boxes with manuals and accessories.

Treadmills

If you've ever returned a product at a big box electronics store within the 30 day return policy, the returned product will most likely go through this process and resold as refurbished.
Rest assured refurbished products are not defective and are tested to be in perfect working condition. Best yet, refurbished products sell for anywhere between 20% - 60% off the normal retail price of the product.

With the refurbished products a - billion dollar industry, refurbished products are a legitimate saving money option that many people consider. Even giving somebody a refurbished product isn't considered taboo. If you think about it, the receiver is receiving more bang for the buck!

Once the info is saved, you can upload it to your personal online LifeSpan Fitness Club account, giving you access to exercise programs and detailed reports of your exercise and health results.

The multicolored LCD console tracks your time, distance, calories, and more.
The centerpiece of the TR1200i, however, is the multicolored LCD console, which offers several simultaneous readouts and exercise programs to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. The display tracks your time, calories, distance, steps, heart rate, speed, and incline level, with large soft-touch keys helping you get started and control your momentum. More importantly, the console offers 17 preset workout programs that help you vary your exercise routine--a critical factor for people trying to get in shape. The TR1200i's workout programs, which are designed by exercise physiologists to keep you safe and motivated, are grouped by exercise motivation, so you can quickly choose a workout that's right for you. All programs include 20 different segments, each with its own speed and inline level set according to the purpose of the program.

In addition to the preset programs, the treadmill offers two My Zone heart rate control programs and two custom programs. The My Zone Constant program keeps your heart rate at a constant level--thereby using your heart rate as a fitness tool--while the My Zone Interval program lets you enter your own minimum and maximum hear rate. As you exercise, the treadmill speed and incline will automatically adjust to keep your heart rate at the preferred level. By contrast, the custom programs are fully adaptable to your favored workout formula. That's because you're in charge of setting the speed and incline level for each of the 20 program segments, and then saving them for future use.

As a bonus, when you purchase a LifeSpan TR1200i treadmill, you automatically receive a membership to the LifeSpan Fitness Club. This comprehensive online health management program, powered by the Interactive Health Partner, lets you select exercise programs, track and manage your fitness and health results, and receive motivating support as you work toward achieving your goals. The LifeSpan Fitness Club is easy to use: each time you work out on the TR1200i, the treadmill automatically saves your exercise results on your LifeSpan USB storage device. Because the USB device is personalized with your age, gender, and weight, not only do you bypass setup screens, you also receive accurate calorie calculations based on your data. Every 20 seconds during your workout, the console will then record your heart rate, minutes, miles, steps, and calories. After your workout, you simply upload your results to your personalized online account on your computer using the USB device. You'll then have access to a full set of detailed reports and fun facts that you can analyze or share with friends, family, fitness coaches, or physicians.

Other details include a set of built-in, high-quality speakers and a iPod/headphone jack, making it easy to listen to music as you walk or run; an Intelli-Step step-counting feature that works like a pedometer; 15 incline levels.

Exercise Gliders

An At Home Alternative To An Elliptical Machine

Treadmills

If you've used an elliptical machine at a gym and you'd like to have a light weight inexpensive version of the same thing at home than an exercise glider may be what you are looking for. While buying an elliptical machine for your home will probably cost you about 00, you can get an exercise glider for less than 0. An example of an exercise glider is Tony Little's "Gazelle" which is advertised on television. It costs about 0.

Treadmills

Exercise Gliders Fold Up Easily (Saves Space)

If you don't have much space in your home then the fact that an exercise glider such as the "Gazelle" folds easily is a big positive. If you live in a small apartment like me then it's a huge positive! I just don't have space to have a big elliptical machine in the middle of the living room all the time. To me that's just as important as the fact that they are about 00 cheaper for pretty much the same type of exercise.

Low Impact Workout

One of the great things about working out with an exercise glider is the fact that it gives you a low impact workout. This is great for those of us with bad knees or for people who are significantly overweight. Walking on the concrete can be very hard on the knees. Why not burn the calories without the wear & tear on the knees? That's what you get with an exercise glider.

Cardio Is An Important Part Of Losing Weight

Combining cardio exercise with a smart fat burning diet (stay away from low calorie starvation diets) is a great way to lose weight fast.

Ten Speech Tips for Writing Powerful and Persuasive Presentation

Have you ever had to give a speech?

Treadmills

Do you remember that feeling? A knot in the stomach, sweaty palms and a panic attack!

Treadmills

Not a very pleasant experience. And yet, I'm sure your speech was a success because 90 per cent of a typical audience want the speaker to succeed.

Yet according to The Book of Lists, speaking in public is one of our greatest fears.

Much of this anxiety is due to a lack of confidence in writing and preparing a speech rather than in the delivery.

Giving a presentation can be a great way to build your business, influence public opinion or kick-start your career.

It is an excellent way to stand out from the crowd and make a real difference in people's lives.

What are the secrets of writing a powerful and persuasive speech for any occasion?

Here are 10 tips for turning a good speech into a great one!

1. Have a plan and set some objectives & outcomes.

There is nothing worse than not knowing what you want to achieve. Do you want to educate the audience, inform, inspire, motivate or touch their emotions? Always work out what you want to achieve before beginning the speech process.

2. Have a formal structure - beginning, middle and end.

Audiences love structure and the best speeches stick to this tried and true rule. As they say: "tell them what you're going to say, tell them and then tell them again".

3. Avoid having too much content.

Hands up those that are guilty of this sin. I know I am. I have lost count the number of technical presentations given by CEO's, managers, scientists, engineers, geologists and other professionals who have just put too much content into their presentations. Far too much for an audience to absorb - remember even the best audiences face information overload after 20 minutes.
How do you overcome the content crisis? See Tip # 8.

4. Define who your audience is and use the most appropriate communication
channels to reach them.

Analyse how your audience likes to take in information - do they like to be visually stimulated or do they enjoy just sitting back and listening. Or do they like to get involved, to touch and feel in a kinaesthetic way. Work out the best mix of visual, audio and kinaesthetic and use this in your speechwriting.

5. Research your speech using a range of sources.

Be a keen observer of the trends your audience is likely to be interested in and keep a file of interesting articles and information. If you are time poor- a few quick questions when meeting an audience just prior to a speech, such as "what are the issues facing your business/industry/association at the moment?" can really help target your presentation and build rapport.

6. Use personal stories, examples and metaphors to make intangible concepts
tangible.

In many cases you are trying to sell ideas and concepts in a speech. These are intangible and often difficult for the audience to grasp. Personal stories, examples and metaphors make the invisible visible.

7. Have a strong opening and closing.

People remember the opening - first impressions count! The closing is important as it should reinforce the key message you want the audience to go away with in their head after they have heard the presentation. Ending with a 'call to action' can be a powerful way to get your audience to act on your message.

8. Add value and extra detail through a handout.

Here's a tip: if you want to provide detail - put it in a handout! You can get far more content across in the written form than in a speech. Always refer to this in your presentation but hand it out after your speech so the audience is not distracted reading through it while you talk. There is nothing more soul destroying for a presenter to see the audience leafing through written notes rather than looking at you!

9. Use short words and plain English.

The short words are always the best words. Avoid jargon. Use active words instead of passive. This has far more impact in the minds of your listeners.

10. Evaluate and review on a regular basis.

There's nothing more powerful than to hear back a speech you've written. If you are writing a speech for someone else always try and hear the speech or at least get some feedback. Recording and listening back to a presentation is the fastest way to improve your skills.

Types of Elliptical Trainers

There are many different types of elliptical trainers and elliptical trainer designs on the market. As these exercise machines become more popular, manufacturers will attempt to design new and supposedly better machines to capitalize on the increasing demand. Because of the various models on the market, it can be a little overwhelming to search for just the right elliptical trainer. Here is a run down on the various types of trainers on the market.

Treadmills

There are three drive systems available for elliptical trainers: front drive, rear drive, and center drive. Within these main categories are further sub-categories, including adjustable stride and adjustable motion trainers. If you've used an elliptical trainer in a gym, then you have probably used the rear drive elliptical. Rear drive elliptical trainers were the first type of elliptical trainers in gyms and clubs. They still dominate the gyms, mainly because they provide a very smooth workout. They are also the most expensive type on the market, and can cost as much as three thousand dollars.

Treadmills

There are a growing number of front drive elliptical trainers on the market because front drive trainers are more generic. In fact, it is easier for treadmill manufacturers to enter the elliptical market with front drive As a result, front drive trainers are much cheaper than their rear drive counterparts.

The individual's weight is centered in the middle of the machine on center drive elliptical trainers. These are relatively new to the market, and so it remains to be seen if they are an overall improvement.

How Many Calories Should You Burn for Weight Loss

If you depend on classic aerobic cardio for weight loss, you probably spend 30 minutes on a machine trying to burn a set number of calories. But does that work? Does burning 500 calories per day cause you to lose 1 pound of fat per week?

Treadmills

Well, according to science, it should. But if it did, you probably wouldn't still be reading this article.

Treadmills

I used to write a column on fat loss myths for Men's Fitness magazine. Here's a classic weight loss topic I covered.

Myth: I need to burn 500 calories each workout to lose fat.

Truth:
Possibly one of the worst inventions for fat loss was the calorie-counting monitor on treadmills, elliptical machines, and stairmasters.

Because of these, millions of men and women now obsess about the number of calories burned per session. You've probably even been one of those people, watching it creep up ever so slowly during a slow-cardio session. All the while knowing that you can wipe out a 30-minute, 300-calorie treadmill session with one fell swoop of the Krispy Kreme hand.

Too many people are brainwashed into thinking that if they don't burn 300-500 calories per session, then they won't lose fat. After all, that is what you've been told time and time again in those fluffy fitness/fashion magazines.

The problems with this approach to fat loss are numerous. First off, it's difficult to say if the calorie counters are even accurate. A story on CBS news showed that cardio machines overestimate calorie burning by up to 20%.

Next, depending on slow cardio for advanced fat loss is relatively useless and at the very least, inefficient. It takes a long time for you to burn a lot of calories and one study showed that men who only used cardio training for weight loss ended up with a reduced resting metabolism. You are basically undoing the calorie burning by depending only on cardio. On the other hand, guys in the same study that used strength training didn't suffer a reduced metabolic rate.

So what is the solution to burning fat in a faster, more efficient method? The answer is to use strength and interval training to burn fewer calories in less exercise time, but with a more intense form of exercise.

Your body will burn more calories after exercise (when you use intervals) than it does after you do slow cardio and your metabolism will stay high. Some experts refer to this as the afterburn effect. How do you do intervals? Well, you could sprint for 30 seconds and rest for 90 seconds and repeat that for 6 sets - using the bike preferably or treadmill if you are experienced with it.

Within that short time frame the intervals will cause your muscles to go crazy with activity (I call it a metabolic turbulence). This crazy metabolism boost causes lots of calorie burning after exercise to get your body back to normal. The result is you would end up burning more fat and more calories in the post-exercise period as your body tries to get things under control.

Now there is one time where you'd want to count calories, but that is when you are counting up and determining how many calories you eat per day. Again, you can wipe out an entire workout's work in less than a minute simply by eating garbage. Without some structure and discipline to your nutrition, there is nothing that even my programs can do to help you lose fat.

So exercise nutrition control and interval training. These are the two anti-calorie counting methods that will help you lose fat and get lean.

Does the Abdoer Twist Work? Get Informed Before You Buy!

In these days we are all being exposed to lots of TV commercials trying to sell us a new small and cool fitness machine that is supposed to help us in our workouts, without any further explanation of how that is done. In those terms, there's no wonder thousands of people keep searching and Googling for information about it before they risk their money.

Treadmills

In these short lines we'll try to cover the AbDoer Twist in it's major aspects to give you a detailed review of this fitness machine before you decide if it is going to be the next exercise machine in your home.

Treadmills

Let's start with "number one" fact: the AbDoer Twist is not magic. It wont do ANYTHING for you if you are not willing to do that. I mean, we have to face it, there is no fitness machine in the world yet that can workout for you. So, if you were expecting us to tell you "yeah, just buy it, buy it and leave it aside in your living room and you'll see the wonders it makes!"... well.... not. Don't buy it if you are one of those. It wont do any wonders for you, that's for sure.

I know it may hurt to listen to it. I know that is not what most people are expecting to hear. And I know, for sure, that I may not be the most appreciated person for saying that, but that's the truth. No good thing comes from doing nothing, not in general aspects of life, nor in fitness. and I would quickly run away from anybody trying to sell you another truth on that.

But, and this one piece of "But", if you already know that for any workout you start there is at least more than a 50% of work that has to come from YOU, this could be a very cool add-on for your fitness accessories.

It is a really easy to use machine. You can practically start using it minutes after you receive it making the most of a very light workout for your whole upper body (and off course, your abs, specially) using every minute of it as truly powerful fitness time.

The AbDoer Twist is designed to actually help you work out, whether you are a workout addict, or you just want to look different, it will take your efforts to a higher level facilitating the right movements you got to do in order to achieve the best results ever.

And one of the best parts of it: the AbDoer Twist is actually very small and compact so if can fit in any space while being used, without consuming room, and it can fit ANY space while not being in use what is, let's face it, something we all care when it comes to get a new fitness machine to be used at home or at the office in our free time.
